The Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituency was formed in the year 2008 and has remained a stronghold of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ever since. There are 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in the Uttar Pradesh state, while, there are 5 Vidhan Sabha constituencies under the Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituency, namely, Loni, Muradnagar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad and Dholana.
